Video Producer, Creative Director, Cinematographer

Christopher Hebert is a video producer, creative director and cinematographer based in the Greater Boston area.

Christopher grew up in Central Massachusetts, graduating from Fitchburg State University with a degree in film and video production in 2013. After spending time in Los Angeles working for a post-production house and freelance work as a grip, he began work as a videographer and editor at an award-winning creative agency in Worcester, Mass. Over the next few years, he collaborated with clients in education, health care, aerospace, and corporate sectors before joining tech media firm International Data Group (now known as Foundry).

In his role at Foundry, Christopher has created content that include event coverage, product reviews, corporate interviews, and mini-documentaries. He has produced videos at major events, including the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), PAX East/West, CES, AWS, Black Hat, DEFCON, Mobile World Congress, and many more. He has worked with several technology media publications, including Macworld, Computerworld, PC World, and Network World, and has created review videos of products from Sony, Microsoft, LG, and Apple, among others. In creating video content for these publications,  Christopher has traveled globally, including Singapore, Barcelona, Montreal, and beyond.

Christopher also contributed in developing the company’s live streaming capabilities, allowing him to produce several technology business podcasts for CIO.com, Computerworld, and the Foundry marketing team. Titles here include “CIO Leadership Live,” “Today in Tech,” and “On the Road with Rick Currier”, which can be found on YouTube. In 2018, Christopher and his team won a Telly Award for the mini-documentary series “Smart Cities,” which has garnered more than 1.5 million views.

Christopher is highly experienced with all of Canon's cinema line of cameras, including the C300, C500, C70, C100, and C200.

After nearly a decade of run-and-gun camera work and producing content for B2B, Christopher has shaped his cinematography style towards cinema vérité. While he still loves being behind the camera as a Camera Op and Cinematographer, he’s stepped into bigger-picture roles—leading productions from pre to post and pitching new and engaging ideas. He continues to hone his craft with the goal of becoming a creative Director in the film and video industry, always up for the challenge of producing content that’s both visually compelling and deeply story-driven.

When Computerworld senior editor Matt Hamblen, already well established as one of the premier reporters on smart cities technologies, traveled with a video crew to Singapore to attend a state-sponsored smart cities conference, he and video producer Alayne Brady saw right away that the story was not on the convention center stage – where presenters tend to focus on sensors, computer consoles, network wiring and data analytics -- but out on the streets, in the hospitals and classrooms of Singapore, where ordinary citizens are able to experience and benefit from all that technology.
In a far-ranging, week-long exploration of the city-state of Singapore, Hamblen talks to everyone from Steve Leonard, the chief executive of a new government entity dedicated to smart city innovation, to Dr. Steven Tucker, who explains, over bowls of Mei Fun noodles, how Singapore is using smart technologies to care for its aging population.
